雷锋干一行爱一行，也精于一行。在农场，他刻苦学习农业生产知识，钻研拖拉机保养和修理技术；在工厂，他创新工作方法，设计生产工具；在部队，他总结驾驶经验，改进汽车保养方法。凭借这种锐意进取、自强不息的创新精神，雷锋在每一个平凡的岗位上都做出了不平凡的成绩。

Lei Feng cherishes his work and excels at all he does. He assiduously studied agricultural production expertise and tractor maintenance and repair methods on the farm. In the factory, he innovated working methods and designed production tools. He summarized his driving experience and advanced auto repair techniques while serving in the army. With this creative spirit of forging ahead and constantly pursuing self-improvement, Lei Feng has made extraordinary feats in every ordinary post.

在望城工作时，雷锋是县城新华书店里的常客。到了鞍钢后，他更是经常到图书室借阅书籍。在部队时，作息时间规定很严，每天晚上要准时熄灯。为了多读会儿书，雷锋买了一个手电筒挑灯夜读。

While working in Wangcheng, Lei Feng was a regular visitor to the county's Xinhua Bookstore. Moreover, in Anshan Iron and Steel Group Corporation, he borrowed books from the library more frequently. The schedule was very strict and the lights had to be switched off on time every night in the army. Therefore, to increase his reading time, Lei Feng bought a flashlight to read late at night.

对于青春，雷锋也有着自己的一番理解和诠释：青春啊，永远是美好的，可是真正的青春，只属于这些永远力争上游的人，永远忘我劳动的人，永远谦虚的人！

As to the youth, Lei Feng also has his own understanding and interpretation: “Youth! Forever beautiful! But the real youth can only be found in people who strive for success, putting work before self and are humble, eternally.”
